So Just How Ugly is His Girlfriend?

Steven Egan, 52, was on a hunting trip in Flagler County, Fla., when he spotted a wild hog outside the tent. He raised his .30 caliber rifle and fired, then went out to track the beast down. Once outside, he took a second shot. There’s only one problem: it wasn’t a wild hog. He had, he told investigating sheriff’s deputies, shot his girlfriend, Lisa Simmons, also 52, through both of her legs. Egan “said he was unaware that Simmons had left the tent and was in the woods,” a sheriff’s spokesman said. Simmons was flown to a hospital for surgery and is expected to survive.
