Republican state senators in Colorado think their Democratic colleagues are moving things through the chamber too quickly. So one Republican, invoking a constitutional rule, demanded that a 2,000 page bill be read aloud on the floor. The blue team found a way to accelerate even that, delegating the reading to five computers set to high speed, which between them got through an estimated 60 hours’ worth of text by 5:30 the same afternoon. But a Denver judge ruled that wasn’t good enough. “The Court was unable to discern a single word from the tape played during the court proceeding,” Judge David Goldberg noted.
