Staying Fit
An off duty Waukesha County (Wisc.) Sheriff’s deputy recognized Jeffery Murawski, 57, walking down the street carrying a gym bag, and getting into a car that his wife Christine Bennett, 58, was driving. An on duty deputy pulled the car over and confronted Murawski, who apologized for going to the gym to work out. Murawski is under quarantine after he’d been exposed to measles, and had no proof of immunity to the virus. The deputy who recognized him had previously been stationed outside Murawski’s house to ensure he didn’t leave: Murawski allegedly hid in the car while his wife drove out for their escapade. The couple was charged with one count each of exposing the public to communicable disease, and each face up to 30 days in jail and a $500 fine.
