Valerie Williams says California’s Albany Unified School District, where she’s superintendent, is “committed to providing an inclusive and respectful learning environment for all of our students.” That’s why it suspended four students for what they did, from home, on their own social media accounts. The students were suspended, a lawsuit says, because they’d “liked” or posted brief comments on Instagram posts that depicted a student and a coach, both black, in nooses.
