The Revolving Door
Patrolling police in Albuquerque, N.M., got a tracking signal from a reported stolen vehicle. They found it parked at an apartment complex just as two men got in it, and drove away. They followed them — to the Metropolitan Courthouse. Sure enough, they parked and went inside. The driver, Alfonso Rodriguez, 20, was coming in to get an ankle monitor, a condition of his release from jail a few days before: he was out on bail after allegedly stealing a different car at gunpoint. “Police said it is frustrating having to use resources on the same offenders over and over again.” (RC/KRQE Albuquerque) ...Because that flies in the face of the “us vs. everyone else” cliché.Original Publication Date: 30 April 2017
