They Were Handicapped in Their Minds

“If you are not handicapped, do not park in a handicap spot,” wrote Butler County, Ohio, Sheriff Richard Jones. “Especially if the sheriff’s personal vehicle is parked directly behind you.” He issued the news release after Anthony Dewayne Twyman and Kimberly Twyman, who had parked their car in a spot set aside for the disabled, were arrested in his department’s parking lot. Anthony fled at the approach of deputies and was nabbed, the statement said; Kimberly demanded someone else drive her away because there were warrants out for her, but the driver ran for help and she was busted too. It turned out the Twyman’s car had stolen goods in it. Their actions gave Jones several more things to advise people not to do. “We hope you find this helpful,” he said in the news release. (AC/Dayton Daily News) ...Unlikely: if you don’t already know not to attract deputies’ attention when you have warrants and stolen goods, telling you won’t help.
