Christina Brenner of Phoenix, Ariz., is very upset with the storage company she rented from. It’s one of those companies that deliver a storage unit, and pick it up and keep it at their “dry, secure facility until you’re ready to have it delivered.” After a year, she was ready, but says all of her belongings were destroyed by a rat infestation. “The smell was horrendous,” she said. “Rat fecal matter, and rat bodies on our belongings.” Worse, she says the company reviewed her claim for damages, and replied they “determined that your damage was not from a covered loss, meaning that the Company cannot pay you for any damaged property.” The company: 1 800 PACK RAT.
