Aggravation
An unidentified woman filed a complaint with the Polk County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office alleging that Maurice Campbell, 59, had been harassing her on the phone. Accusing the woman of having an intimate relationship with her husband, Campbell allegedly called multiple times during the day until the woman turned off her phone for the night. The next morning, she found three voicemails filled with profanities and threats. “This is not proper behavior for anyone,” said Sheriff Grady Judd, “let alone an elected official.” Campbell — the Vice Mayor of Fort Meade — was arrested. She had concluded one of her voicemails by saying, “this is Maurice Campbell, and I approve that [expletive] message, and you can believe that.” (MS/Lakeland Ledger) ...We’ll see later if the voters approve.Original Publication Date: 10 March 2019
