The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2003 that state laws cannot prohibit the sexual conduct of consenting adults. Utah, however, didn’t revoke their laws against gay sex and adultery until 2018. But they missed another one: fornication. State Rep. Paul Ray said it was time for the state to get into compliance and remove that prohibition too. That didn’t set well with Ray’s fellow Republican colleague, Rep. Keven Stratton. “What is legally [sic] is often far below what is morally right,” Stratton grumbled. “And I recognize our laws are not strong enough to rule a immoral [sic] people.” (RC/KSTU Salt Lake City) ...Right, and we can’t force our political leaders to speak proper English, either.Original Publication Date: 10 March 2019
