This Vacation was a Real Dud
An American tourist heading home via Austria’s Vienna Airport showed customs officials a “souvenir” from the visit: a 7.5 caliber World War II tank artillery shell she found on a hike; she asked if she could take it on her flight. As a clue to their feelings on the matter, officials evacuated the luggage terminal and called in the bomb squad. The unnamed 24-year-old woman was found guilty of negligent endangerment, and fined 4,000 euros (US$4,694).
