“Open your register, I’m robbing you,” a man told the clerk at a Dollar Tree store in Roseville, Minn. “If you put your hands down, y’all done,” he added, gesturing like he had a gun under his shirt. Then he noticed another employee looking at him with a look of recognition on his face. That’s when he remembered he hadn’t put on his mask before coming in, and pulled it over his face. He escaped with $2,000. The man who recognized him said he was another employee’s boyfriend; police found the getaway vehicle near the girlfriend’s address, with a man inside matching the description of the robber. In his pocket: an envelope with the word “robbery” written on it — and $600 in cash, mostly $1 bills. Quincy Gerrard Petty, 39, was arrested.
