Tooting Your Own Horn

During the Dulwich Hamlet vs. Premier League Crystal Palace soccer match in Tooting, England, an announcement came over the loudspeakers: “Can the owner of the car blocking the emergency exit please speak to your nearest steward?” The page gave the car’s license plate information and repeated two more times, culminating in the threat the car was to be towed on the third announcement. Finally the owner — Dulwich’s goalie, Preston Edwards — shouted, “That’s my car!” The crowd began chanting, “Preston move your car, Preston, Preston move your car!” Eventually, a fan moved Edward’s car for him. Preston explained that he’d parked there because he was “running late and saw no spaces.” Dulwich lost 5 0. (MS/BBC) ...Next time, park in front of the goal.
