Who’s to Judge?
Judge Stephen M. Kearney does not exist. At least, an affidavit said a search of the Internet didn’t find him anywhere in the United States. But to go by the affidavit, that didn’t stop Judge Kearney’s signature from appearing — along with a genuine county seal — on the divorce decree James Todd sent his wife. Todd, an Elkins, Ark., police officer, has been charged with forgery — and given paid leave. The divorce decree, the affidavit says, came from the Internet. (AC/KFSM Ft.
