Truth, Justice, or The American Way?

This spring (This is True #1191, 9 April 2017), student journalists at Pittsburg (Kan.) High School found that the school’s newly hired principal’s Master’s and Doctorate degrees were apparently purchased at a “diploma mill.” When they published their findings, Amy Robertson immediately resigned. As the school year came to an end, the same students published an editorial in the school newspaper charging “the matter has been swept under the rug.” But Robertson resigned, so end of story, right? No: they demand that school superintendent Destry Brown be held accountable. “We met with Brown three times while researching Robertson,” the students said in their editorial. “Three times he told us not to worry about her credentials. Three times he assured us there was nothing to see. Three times he was wrong.” So they wonder: why has he not suffered any repercussions for hiring her? Not to mention the school board: they failed in their oversight of Brown, and have ignored his “repeated disregard for the truth.” (RC/Wichita Eagle) ...There’s hope for this country yet.
