Umbrella Diverts Rain

Two Connecticut high schools were supposed to be playing tournament baseball, but the game was rained out. They found a way to compete that the weather couldn’t stop: beginning with the starting pitchers, the athletes faced one another in a series of one on one contests. Amity High won the first when John Lumpinski threw rock; his opposite number had gone with scissors. The rock paper scissors matches went 11 rounds before Luca Lawrence, playing for North Haven High, clinched the victory. His opponent had thrown paper. (AC/Boston Globe) ...You know what that means: Lawrence scored the winning run with scissors.
