Detroit, Mich., police went out in force to arrest drug dealers. When they met resistance, officers drew guns and wielded their fists against — other officers. There were no actual drug dealers involved. The police squad conducting the raid, from the city’s 11th precinct, had not realized the targets of their search warrant were actually cops from the 12th precinct, who were simultaneously conducting a sting. “It appears that this supervisor did not have control of this situation,” said Police Chief James Craig. He says administrative and even criminal charges could be filed.
