Vendetta

Nicholas Todd Helman, 19, admitted he tried to kill the guy seeing his ex-girlfriend by putting a “scratch-and-sniff” greeting card in the victim’s mailbox — after lacing it with ricin, a poison so deadly that less than 2mg can kill an adult if inhaled. The plot came to light when Helman bragged about the delivery to a co-worker at a Target store in Warrington, Pa.; the co-worker called police, who found more ricin in Helman’s apartment. He faces at least 5 years in prison for attempted murder, but that’s not the end of his troubles: Helman has also been charged with trying to get his jail cellmate to kill the detective in the case, kidnap the prosecutor and rip out his tongue, and burn out the eyes of his Target co-worker. The cellmate, naturally, turned him in. (RC/Philadelphia Inquirer) ...Some people just don’t know how to quit when they’re behind.
