Warmed Over

The Feria family of Jacksonville, Fla., paid $4,300 for their new refrigerator — a Samsung Family Hub “smart” refrigerator — and now they regret it. When it quickly failed, “We lost all of our food that day,” Jordan Feria said, and after a month it’s still not fixed. After multiple technicians came and looked, they said they weren’t trained in how to work on the complex device. Samsung says there is only one technician in Northeast Florida that can handle it. That technician is busy: he said their wait would be “indefinite.” (RC/WJXX Jacksonville) ...Smart appliances: not always the smart buy.
