Watching the Watchers

A Denver, Colo., police officer is facing charges that he stole cash from the suspect in a shooting. Officer Julian Archuleta, 48, a 12-year department veteran, investigated a car crash that resulted from a police pursuit of the suspect; he allegedly pocketed money he was booking into evidence. He turned in $118 as evidence, but later turned in a dozen $100 bills after he learned there was an internal investigation in progress. Due to the tampering of the evidence, the shooting suspect had to be released without charges. Archuleta was charged with tampering with physical evidence, a felony, as well as theft and official misconduct, and was suspended without pay. How was he caught? His own body camera recorded the theft. (RC/Denver Post) ...Making it first-degree obliviocy.
