What She Signed Up For
Trudy Anderson, 44, took a job as an office manager of Lone Peak Controls and D&L Electric Control in Pleasant Grove, Utah. But, she says, she was given a surprising schedule: Mini-skirt Monday, Tube-top Tuesday, Wet T-shirt Wednesday, No bra Thursday, and Bikini top Friday. Her boss, company owner Derek Wright, required her to give written consent to sexual harassment as a condition of employment, she alleges. She says when she sought time off for a medical appointment, Wright offered to “give her a mammogram for free,” she says. He also allegedly sprayed a product “meant to arouse women” in the office, slapped her butt, requested ...uh... oral “services,” offered to install a shower at the office so the two of them could use it together, and asked about her intimate grooming. Anderson stayed on the job for four years (she complains that as a single mother of three, she couldn’t afford to quit), but, she says, she was fired for reporting the harassment. She’s suing. (AC/Salt Lake Tribune) ...Maybe he just thought the complaint meant she wasn’t willing to work under those conditions anymore.Original Publication Date: 28 August 2011
