In Hot Water

Health officials inspected a Burger King restaurant in Xenia, Ohio, after getting reports that one of the employees took a bath in a kitchen sink used to wash cooking pots. It was no mere rumor: the employee posted video of his balneation on his MySpace page. “This is my birthday and I’m taking a bath in the sink at Burger King,” the employee, who posted under the name “Mr.UNST@BL3”, tells the camera. The video also shows the restaurant’s manager, who doesn’t seem concerned with what’s going on. Once Burger King corporate heard about it, however, everyone shown in the video, including bather Timothy Tackett, 25, was fired. “The biggest problem we had with it was the potential for food equipment contamination,” said Greene County Health Commissioner Mark McDonnell, but didn’t issue any citations. However, he added, “we view these kind of stunts as really bad for the industry.” (Xenia Gazette) …Hey, anytime someone in fast food washes up, I view it as a good thing.
