An Axe to Grind
A man in Madison, Wisc., called 911 to report he was drunk and out of control. His wife had fled the house when he grabbed an axe he used for log splitting, and he used it to destroy their TV, computer, and other items. “He then moved outside and smashed the family car,” said Police Chief Mike Koval, “chopping off both side mirrors and eventually striking the windshield with such force that the axe became stuck,” and responding officers found it still embedded there. The unnamed 34-year-old was arrested, charged with domestic disorderly conduct, and damage to property exceeding $5,000, a felony. So, what set him off? He thought, maybe, his wife might have damaged his “prized” action figures. (RC/Wisconsin State Journal) ...His action figures, according to him: prized. Him, according to his wife: no prize.Original Publication Date: 27 January 2019
