Yoda and Chewy were three months old. At eight pounds, they were not very big. But when the pet pigs got loose — along with three others also belonging to Cheyenne Fagre — Peach County, Ga., sheriff’s deputies decided to shoot them. According to an incident report, a neighbor had reported “wild hogs” on her property. “We believed the other hogs would leave the area once the first one was shot, but they did not,” a deputy wrote. “All animals were shot and removed from the property.” The sheriff said an investigation was ongoing and “training” was planned.
