And the Foliage Hurdles Winner Is

A taxi picked up two passengers in Ottawa, Ont., Canada, and as he drove through traffic, the hack had a seizure, the occupants say. His convulsions caused him to floor the accelerator, careening the cab out of control. It hit a hill and went airborne, smashing through some trees and then hit a parked BMW, spinning that car upside down, with the taxi wheels-down on top of it. Still, the cabbie had his foot stomped down on the pedal, spinning the tires so fast they were smoking. The BMW’s owner came running, and was hit in the face by pieces from one of the cab’s tires, which exploded from the heat. “Unique,” said a paramedic supervisor, adding that no one was injured seriously enough to require hospital treatment. “It’s like out of Hollywood,” he said.
