Animal Control

Tulsa, Okla., Animal Welfare agents seized 25 dogs from the yard of a homeowner who apparently hoards canines, “but she wouldn’t let us inside the house,” a spokesman noted. In Tulsa, residents are limited to three dogs. “We took those 25 from the front and backyard. It was all we had access to.” After another complaint from neighbors, they came back, and gave the unnamed woman an ultimatum: turn over the rest of her dogs, or they would charge her with animal cruelty. She gave them 35 more; all were healthy and well fed, they say. “They were all related in some way,” the spokesman says. “We would be pulling one out, and she would say, ‘This one is the nephew of this one’s sister.’ It was out of control.” In the end, they only let her keep one dog: Ebie, a female Chihuahua-mix.
