As Fresh As Ever

Dave Alexander, a farmer from Ontario, Canada, bought a cheeseburger and fries at McDonald’s six years ago. Much more recently, he put it up for sale on eBay. “ORIGINAL, plain McDonald’s Cheeseburger and Fries,” the auction listing read, “MADE & PURCHASED JUNE 7, 2012.” According to Alexander, the burger has lost all its moisture, and the cheese has turned light brown, but from four feet away it looks like he bought them this morning. Alexander said the food sat in his office untouched until he put it them up for sale, though he said he did “Swiffer off” the dust. A year after he bought the burger, a friend suggested adding a control, and Alexander made a homemade burger and fries. Those didn’t fare so well. “The homemade fries just look like little bits of stone,” Alexander said. “And the McDonald’s are perfect looking.” The listing was serious, Alexander said, adding, “nature has refused to take this burger.” (MS/Time) ...Some things just never get old.
