Bats in the Belfry

Police in Petoskey, Mich., responded to reports of a man on the roof of a downtown business. According to police, when they arrived they saw “a male subject, dressed in a Batman costume, hanging off the western wall of the building.” Police arrested Mark Wayne Williams, 31, on charges of trespassing, plus possession a dangerous weapon after allegedly discovering a baton, a can of pepper spray, and a pair of sand-filled gloves on him. “I realize that this is a serious offense,” Williams said at his arraignment. “I honestly had no idea the items I was holding are illegal.” This isn’t his first run-in with authorities, though. In fact, court records identify him as a habitual offender. According to public safety director John Calabrese, “We’ve had contact with him in the past where he’s made himself up to look like that Crow character, who’s also a comic book character.” (MS/Petoskey News) ...Could be worse. He could dress as Wolverine.
