Police responded to a house in Holiday, Fla., where they found David Benes’ live-in girlfriend sitting outside with scratches and bruises on her arms. They found Benes inside, allegedly too drunk to remember what happened, and claiming his girlfriend had started a fight “because she is crazy.” The sheriff’s report says that Benes took the batteries out of the phones in the house, then grabbed his girlfriend, held her down, and told her he was trying to “exorcise her and get the devil out of her.” Benes was arrested on charges of domestic battery on a person 65 or older, tampering with a witness, and false imprisonment. The first charge comes from the ages of the couple. Benes’ girlfriend is 80 years old; he is 54.
