Drive-Through Window

“I don’t know how those boys made it,” said John Rauchbauer, 30, of Port Richey, Fla. He was awakened at 2:00 a.m. when a car plowed into his house — right through his living room, dining room, and into his sons’ bedroom. The only illumination came from the car’s taillights. He screamed for the boys, Tyler, 10, and Hayden, 4. That’s when the car’s driver crawled out and offered, “If you give me $1,000, I’ll help you find your kids.” Rauchbauer told her to “get back in the ... car.” A house guest, who had been hit by the car and was covered with blood, found Tyler; Hayden’s bed was pushed through the wall into the back yard. The boys suffered just minor injuries. Police say this was only the end of the destruction caused by the driver, Crystal Leija, 32. She had gotten drunk at a bowling alley and hit a parked car as she left, they say, and also ran through two fences and mailboxes. She was arrested and charged with driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury, and hit and run driving, and booked on just $6,150 bail. (RC/St. Peterburg Times) ...I’d like to know the missing word(s) in “the ... car.”
