Entitlement Syndrome

Sitting at the drive-thru window at a McDonald’s in Des Moines, Iowa, Amanda Gravely noticed a woman at the counter inside was upset at how long it was taking to get her McChicken sandwich. The woman was so irate, “I took out my camera and recorded her — just to see how far it would go,” she said. “It just escalated really quickly.” When the sandwich was delivered, the woman wasn’t happy: she threw it into the clerk’s face, and jumped up on the counter. The woman and the clerk tussled, backed up by two men she had with her. Employees shoved the woman out the door, but she came back in for more before finally leaving with the two men. Witnesses say the trio was drunk, and drove away from the restaurant. Thanks to the video, police identified the woman as Valerie Anne Shepherd, 21, and charged her with assault causing injury, and disorderly conduct. “Life’s too short to get that mad over a chicken sandwich,” Gravely said.
