Fibber McGee’s Closet

Police in Stratford, Conn., have found a missing woman. Frances Rodriguez, 60, was gone when her husband woke up, and he assumed she had gone for a walk. He went to work, but she was still gone when he arrived home, and filed a missing person report. Police searched the house, and found her dead under a pile of laundry. Meanwhile, police in Las Vegas, Nev., searched the desert around the home of Billie Jean James, 67, who was a horder. They even brought dogs to search inside the home, but didn’t find her. After four months, James’ husband Bill found her — inside the house, under a pile of the junk she collected. “If there had been any indication that there was a remote possibility that somebody was back underneath that stuff we would have taken the appropriate action,” a police spokesman said. (RC/Connecticut Post, AP) ...Apparently bulldozers weren’t thought of as “appropriate.”
