Fire in the Hole!

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department received a report of a bull moose carcass on a trail near the mouth of Woods Canyon, outside Jackson Hole. Because it’s a popular trail — and thus concerns over attracting predators — they needed to do something with the body — a full-grown bull, which can weigh up to 1,500 pounds (680 kg). The solution: 100 pounds of explosives to break the carcass into small enough pieces to be quickly scavenged. “There’s nothing left,” Game Warden Kyle Lash said afterward. “It’s kind of a slick way to get rid of a carcass.” (MS/Jackson Hole Daily) ...“Game Wardens: we know how to get rid of bodies.”
