Follow Your Dreams, Unless They’re Stupid

Tanner Broadwell, 26, and Nikki Walsh, 24, didn’t just talk about their dream to quit their jobs, sell off their belongings, buy a boat, and sail the world: they did it. After putting everything they owned into a used sailboat in Alabama, they didn’t leave anything in the budget for insurance. They set sail from Tarpon Springs, Fla.; the boat sank the very next day and is a total loss. “I think you could sense our tragedy,” Broadwell said. “I sold everything I had to do this, and I lost everything in a matter of 20 minutes.” But all is not lost: the couple posted their story to GoFundMe asking for $10,000 to start again. They hit that goal in just three days, and topped at nearly $17,000. (RC/Tampa Bay Times) ...It’s amazing how much people are willing to pitch in — to get front-row seats to watch their next disaster.
