For I Have Sinned

Joseph Buenviaje, 53, has been charged with smuggling cell phones, drugs, and tobacco into the federal prison in Berlin, N.H. He allegedly admitted that he has been selling such items to inmates for about seven months, during which time he made $12,000 in cash, not counting the $3,000-5,000 inmates still owed him. “Buenviaje said that he knew it was a crime to introduce the contraband into FCI Berlin and was aware he could go to prison if he was caught,” said Department of Justice special agent Dennis Matulewicz. The cash supplemented the salary from Buenviaje’s day job: he was the prison chaplain. (RC/Portsmouth Herald) ...On the plus side, he’s already well versed with the prison routine.
