Freak of Nomenclature Extraordinaire

Jeremy Mitchell Foster, 21, reported to police in Gainesville, Fla., that after stopping by an ATM at his credit union, he was walking by a car in the parking lot when the man inside grabbed him, pulled him into his car, and attempted to pull off his clothes and rape him. When he escaped, Foster says, his $220 from the ATM was missing. Officers quickly located a suspect, and jailed him on charges of sexual assault, kidnaping, and robbery without a weapon. Police say they “verified” the suspect’s name is Phuc Kieu. The 58-year-old man was held on $150,000 bail — but was released when a detective got video from the credit union’s surveillance cameras. Foster’s story is “not consistent with video evidence,” the detective says, and Foster was brought in for questioning. He admitted he didn’t even go to the ATM, but went to the parking lot to meet Kieu. Police say the case is apparently “a prostitution deal gone wrong.” The charges against Kieu were dropped, and Foster has been charged with filing a false police report. (RC/Gainesville Sun) ...To escape the infamy, Foster plans to change his name — to Dhum Bass.
