Film producer Zach Jankovic was making a promotional video in downtown Houston, Texas, when a man approached the crew. “He walked up to them and did one of these,” he said, putting his index finger to his lips as a “shush” command — and then he pulled a gun. The robber stole the crew’s cameras and tripods. “For some reason he left the GoPro behind,” Jankovic said — and that camera captured the robber’s face. “If you are going to rob a camera crew, grab all of that media so that you are not able to be plastered all over the Internet.” Jankovic did post the photo on the Internet, and police are searching for the suspect. Jankovic lost about $15,000 worth of camera equipment. The promotional video, by the way, was filmed at the city’s famous “We Love Houston” sign. “I’m sort of naive to the crime that takes place in Houston,” he said. “The idea of the video was to promote Houston.” (MS/KTRK Houston) ...A good reminder that criminals love Houston too.
