Gone in .60 Seconds

It was a parental nightmare come true: just after a woman stepped into a store in Victorville, Calif., with her two children, a man reached in the door, grabbed her 4-year-old daughter, and ran. But the unnamed woman, holding her baby, was watching, and immediately screamed and ran after the man, who let go of the girl to try to get away. Other witnesses joined the chase and tackled the man, and held him for responding sheriff’s deputies. Terry Lynn Ransom (no, really!), 24, who already has an “extensive” criminal record, was held on $250,000 bail. (RC/Victorville Daily Press) ...It’s a good thing his name wasn’t Butcher.
