Have His Head Examined, Too
Police in Frederick, Md., were called to a “noise complaint” in an apartment. An officer knocked on the apartment door, which was answered by Charles Akin Rempe, 52. Rempe explained he had been sitting in a closet for several hours, and was trying to summon the police — by shooting a .45 caliber pistol in the apartment. The gun was found, as well as a number of bullet holes. Why did Rempe want the police to come? He had somehow managed to get a fish hook embedded in the fleshiest part of his body — his buttocks — and was hoping for some help.
