Here She Is, Miss Lawyered-Up

“We have a zero-tolerance policy on rules,” says Grant Gravitt, executive producer of the Miss Florida USA pageant, a stepping stone to the Miss USA pageant, which then leads to the Miss Universe pageant. And, he says, Miss Florida USA has lost her crown just a week after she received it, beating out 64 other women. “Unfortunately, our title holder sought an unfair competitive advantage, and that’s just not acceptable in our system,” Gravitt said. “She made a poor life choice.” Oh dear! What rule did Genesis Davila, 24, violate? She let someone else do her hair and makeup for her, which is strictly a no-no, Gravitt says. Runner-up Linette De Los Santos will take the crown — but not if Davila’s lawyers have anything to say about it: “She’s still Miss Florida,” asserts attorney Mayra Joll. “She’s still Miss Florida USA. Justice is going to be served.” (RC/WPLG Miami) ...Sounds like it already was.
