Third-graders at Frank Porter Graham Bilinguë school in Chapel Hill, N.C., were doing a unit “on how individuals influence history,” which was to end with a “wax museum” in which the students dressed as individuals who influenced history. But “several students selected potentially controversial people,” said principal Emily Bivens, such as Hitler and Columbus. The wax museum event was canceled.
