How to Bag a Hot Ticket
Duncan Robb thought he’d found a bargain. For just 30 pounds (US$42), he and his girlfriend would get to sit in row Q and see her favorite band — the Red Hot Chili Peppers — in Belfast, Northern Ireland, just before Valentine’s Day. He showed her the tickets on Christmas, but neither of them noticed the problem. Then came February. She wanted more information about the show, but her research turned up nothing: the Peppers were not performing in Belfast. Finally, they noticed what the tickets actually said. But Robb is half-Northern Irish, and they flew to Belfast anyway — to hear the self-styled “most famous bagpipe band on the planet,” the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. (AC/WTVD Durham) ...For a famous band, the Pipers have really awful name recognition.Original Publication Date: 18 February 2018
