“They aren’t the smartest people in the world,”says St. Louis, Mo., Police Chief Mike DeNardo. Kyle Blaine Corr, 19, was arrested for burglary after officers found stolen items in his truck. “The truck was stored at the police department until an inventory could be conducted,” DeNardo said. But the investigating officer became suspicious when Corr insisted on knowing when he would be able to get his truck back. Officers placed the truck under surveillance. Early the next morning, Corr and an accomplice allegedly broke into the garage through a steel side door. Officers say they watched them go straight to Corr’s truck and remove bags of marijuana from one of the side panels. Corr was charged with burglary, tampering with evidence, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell or deliver. (JW/St. Louis Sun-Herald) ...But Chief? What criminal could you describe as smart?
