Les Schtroumpfs

An unidentified man in Tyrol, Austria, says he plans to defend himself against charges he violated “public decency” by “defaming two police officers.” In a Facebook post, the man warned area residents of a speed trap on a local highway by noting there were “two smurfs standing with lasers.” Describing the officers as “smurfs” was worthy of a 160 euro (US$197) fine, they said. The man said it was simply a joke, not meant as an insult. (RC/AP) ...The smurfs’ disregard for free speech is the real joke.
