Never Saw Them Before in My Life

An inspector paid a surprise visit to a day care in Jones County, Ga., on reports that it was overcrowded. The operator, Lavern Stubbs, 36, allegedly hid four children, aged 6–11, behind a storage unit, but the inspector found them. Stubbs allegedly said the kids were not enrolled in the day care, and told them to leave. The kids were found by a motorist walking along the road — their home was 15 miles away. A sheriff’s deputy brought them back to the day care and arrested Stubbs for reckless conduct. (RC/Macon Telegraph) ...So really, it was more of a day don’t-care.
