Next Time, Call Moses

During the “thousand year” floods that hit Boulder, Colo., and surrounding areas last fall, it wasn’t just houses that were swept away: a lot of cars were, too. At one scene, “We kind of pounded on the bottom” of a car that was upside down in the water, said John Cook of North Metro Fire. “We heard [the driver] return the pounding ...so we changed our strategy from more of investigative to a rescue.” And sure enough, they were able to rescue the driver, Roy Ortiz. “I just thanked God for the angels that were sent to me,” Ortiz said in a triumphant press conference the next day. “When I heard those people I was just happy.” Ortiz is no longer happy: he has filed notice of his intent to sue his rescuers, claiming $500,000 in damages. (RC/KCNC Denver) ...Will the suit also name God as a defendant?
Story Update: I searched for an update, and all I could find were stories about his “intent” to sue, and plenty of criticism of Ortiz for that intent, but there was no details on an actual suit being filed, let alone won.
