Noisy Neighbors

Two groups were quarreling over loud music at a campground in Chino, Calif., when Dejay Barber, a member of one of the groups, and Matthew Rincon, with the other, drew guns, brandished them, and shot multiple rounds into the air, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept. spokesman Steve Whitmore. But what Rincon, 24, apparently didn’t know was that Barber was an L.A. County Sheriff’s deputy. And what Barber, 44, apparently didn’t know was that Rincon was an L.A. County Sheriff’s deputy. Chino police arrested both deputies, and Whitmore notes both have been relieved of duty — but are still getting paid. “This is gross negligence,” said Whitmore.
