Not Worthy
Robert Worthy Sr., 64, of Chester, S.C., is facing charges of attempted murder, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, domestic violence, and weapons charges after allegedly shooting his mother-in-law at a Christian bookstore. Worthy denies the charges, saying he wasn’t even in the bookstore at the time. Even police admit Worthy didn’t mean to shoot her: he was actually aiming for his wife, Vivian, they allege. Worthy, the assistant pastor at Union Baptist Church, had threatened to kill his wife over their “bitter” divorce, prosecutors say, and she reportedly previously survived two recent drive-by shooting attempts. If convicted, Worthy faces up to 60 years in prison. Judge Brian Gibbons denied bond in the case, ruling Rev. Worthy “is a danger to this community at this time.” (RC/Rock Hill Herald) ...Right: clearly he’s a terrible shot.Original Publication Date: 08 October 2017
