Nutty

The Idea Commons in downtown Springfield, Mo., is being redone. Plans include fountains that spell out “A-ha!” But while ideas include adding 30,000 square feet to an “innovation center” and putting up a parking garage, a developer has proposed something not quite so practically connected to the area’s facilities for tech companies, startups, and the arts: “What if we did a giant sculpture of a cashew?” Mat Burton’s suggestion isn’t random. Springfield is associated with cashew chicken, which was invented by local restaurateur David Leong. (AC/Springfield News-Leader) ...As long as the fountains aren’t flowing with sauce.
