On Guard

According to Walmart security guard Carmen Fulcher, a bicyclist hit her security car in the parking lot of the Albuquerque, N.M., store. “I was driving around the garden center right there on the corner and he hit the car with a soda,” she told police. “And so I turned around really quickly and I started yelling at him,” she says. “Next to the donation box, he hit the curb and I pulled up and he said I hit him.” The bicyclist had a different story: Fulcher ran him down, he said. Fulcher claimed there were no security cameras covering the scene, but Albuquerque police found footage that showed Fulcher actually made two passes to run down the man, they say, rendering him unconscious. She was arrested and charged with aggravated battery. Fulcher has a criminal record: she’s facing previous DWI and drug charges, and has had two previous battery charges.
