Playing Catch with the Kid, Floriduh Style
After witnessing a suspected “drug transition,” a Boca Raton, Fla., police officer pulled over one of the vehicles involved in the exchange. When approaching the vehicle, he noticed a toddler in the back seat without a car seat, and with a fresh cut on the face. The officer told the man driving that he had seen his passenger, Christine Maier, 31, purchase drugs. The man agreed to allow the officer to search his car; the cop discovered “a white crystal-like residue” and two hypodermic needles on the front passenger side. He also found three more needles in the back seat, within reach of the toddler. Maier allegedly told the officer she panicked when she saw the police car’s emergency lights, and threw the needles in the back seat. She also said she was just getting them “for a friend.” The driver told officers he had no idea the needles were there, and the only reason he had driven Maier to Boca Raton was because he’d just gotten out of jail and “it’s been a while since I’ve had a girl.” (MS/Palm Beach Post) ...It might be a while longer.Original Publication Date: 04 April 2017
